Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Et In Ayodhya Ego ...If Not, The Stygian Oath Of Abjuration by Surendran Nair was auctioned at Sothebys in Mumbai in November 2019. It changed hands for a price of INR 1,875,000.00 (€ 23,652.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of INR 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Surendran Nair - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Labyrinth Of Eternal Delight, which sold at auction in December 2014 for INR 6,225,000.00 (€ 81,278.41).

Die Arbeit Et In Ayodhya Ego ...If Not, The Stygian Oath Of Abjuration von Surendran Nair kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in Mumbai zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von INR 1.875.000,00 (€ 23.652,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von INR 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Surendran Nair mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Labyrinth Of Eternal Delight beobachtet, die im Dezember 2014 für INR 6.225.000,00 (€ 81.278,41) versteigert wurde.
