Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Some Reflections about Sacred Cows or The Birth of Minotaur (Corollary Mythologies) by Surendran Nair. The price achieved of USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,975.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Surendran Nair achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Labyrinth Of Eternal Delight in December 2014 with an auction result of INR 6,225,000.00 (€ 81,278.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Some Reflections about Sacred Cows or The Birth of Minotaur (Corollary Mythologies) von Surendran Nair zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.975,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Surendran Nair erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Labyrinth Of Eternal Delight im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 6.225.000,00 (€ 81.278,41).
