Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Untitled (Two Men) by Sudhir Patwardhan was worth GBP 21,760.00 (€ 25,324.89) to a buyer in June this year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art at Bonhams in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sudhir Patwardhan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tree, which sold at auction in March 2016 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 87,796.31).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Two Men) von Sudhir Patwardhan war einem Käufer im Juni diesen Jahres GBP 21.760,00 (€ 25.324,89) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Sudhir Patwardhan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tree beobachtet, die im März 2016 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 87.796,31) versteigert wurde.
