Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Ujjain by Sudhir Patwardhan. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,898.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sudhir Patwardhan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tree in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 87,796.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ujjain von Sudhir Patwardhan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.898,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sudhir Patwardhan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tree im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 87.796,31).
