Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Keralite by Sudhir Patwardhan was sold in the The Amaya Collection Modern and Contemporary Indian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 48,767.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Sudhir Patwardhan have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2016 the work Tree was auctioned for USD 100,000.00 (€ 87,796.31).

Die Arbeit Keralite von Sudhir Patwardhan wurde im März 2013 in der Auktion The Amaya Collection Modern and Contemporary Indian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 48.767,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
