Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Grey Wall by Sudhir Patwardhan. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,245.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sudhir Patwardhan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tree, which sold at auction in March 2016 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 87,796.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grey Wall von Sudhir Patwardhan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.245,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sudhir Patwardhan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tree beobachtet, die im März 2016 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 87.796,31) versteigert wurde.
