Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sudarshan Shetty could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work Untitled (Red Beetle) changed hands for GBP 4,410.00 (€ 5,187.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sudarshan Shetty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 37,284.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sudarshan Shetty konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Red Beetle) für GBP 4.410,00 (€ 5.187,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sudarshan Shetty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 37.284,28).
