Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sudarshan Shetty could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Red Beetle) changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 17,238.88) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sudarshan Shetty - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 37,284.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sudarshan Shetty konnte im März 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Red Beetle) für USD 23.750,00 (€ 17.238,88) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sudarshan Shetty mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 37.284,28) versteigert wurde.
