The work Red Tide by Su Xiaobai was sold in the Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction at POLY in Hong Kong in October 2016. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,360,000.00 (€ 277,723.04), 57% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Su Xiaobai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Great Consummation-3 sold at auction in October 2014 with the realized price of HKD 4,600,000.00 (€ 473,583.40).

Die Arbeit Red Tide von Su Xiaobai wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.360.000,00 (€ 277.723,04) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Su Xiaobai; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Great Consummation-3 im Oktober 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 4.600.000,00 (€ 473.583,40).
