Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Christies in Shanghai held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Three Colours - Yin Bai by Su Xiaobai. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CNY 800,000.00 – 1,600,000.00, the actual price achieved of CNY 960,000.00 (€ 122,143.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Su Xiaobai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Great Consummation-3, which sold at auction in October 2014 for HKD 4,600,000.00 (€ 473,583.40).
