This artwork by Su Wong-Shen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2007. In the Contemporary Chinese Art (Part II) auction, the work Fence sold for HKD 487,500.00 (€ 43,466.62) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Su Wong-Shen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Front Yard sold at auction in April 2008 with the realized price of HKD 583,500.00 (€ 48,087.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 95 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Su Wong-Shen erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Chinese Art (Part II) wurde die Arbeit Fence für HKD 487.500,00 (€ 43.466,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Su Wong-Shen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Front Yard im April 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 583.500,00 (€ 48.087,78).
