Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Dades Gorge, South Morocco by Stuart Maxwell Armfield for GBP 293.75 (€ 450.92). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stuart Maxwell Armfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prayer in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,060.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Dades Gorge, South Morocco von Stuart Maxwell Armfield für GBP 293,75 (€ 450,92) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stuart Maxwell Armfield erzielen.
