Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Boats Racing by Stuart Maxwell Armfield for GBP 35.25 (€ 57.62). This price was achieved in the auction Twentieth Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stuart Maxwell Armfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prayer in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,060.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Boats Racing von Stuart Maxwell Armfield für GBP 35,25 (€ 57,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stuart Maxwell Armfield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prayer im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.060,38).
