Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Australian jaune De Nickel by Stephen Bush was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 9,000.00 (€ 5,253.73). Other works by Stephen Bush have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2010 by the work Tallow-wood at USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,600.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Australian jaune De Nickel von Stephen Bush im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 9.000,00 (€ 5.253,73) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Stephen Bush wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2010 die Arbeit Tallow-wood mit USD 11.875,00 (€ 9.600,61).
