Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
This work without title by Stepan Dmitrievich Erzia was worth GBP 39,650.00 (€ 43,865.35) to a buyer in June 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Russian Paintings Day Sale at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stepan Dmitrievich Erzia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Head Of A Woman, which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 88,124.22).
