Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lutist d'après Caravaggio by Stanton Macdonald-Wright was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2014. The price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 91,642.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanton Macdonald-Wright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still-Life Synchromy in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lutist d'après Caravaggio von Stanton Macdonald-Wright wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 91.642,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanton Macdonald-Wright erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still-Life Synchromy im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 1.740.633,54).
