Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Embarkation by Stanton Macdonald-Wright was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 175,000.00 (€ 165,688.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanton Macdonald-Wright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still-Life Synchromy in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Embarkation von Stanton Macdonald-Wright kam im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 165.688,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanton Macdonald-Wright erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still-Life Synchromy im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 1.740.633,54).
