Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, 2014 by Spencer Sweeney was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,720.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Spencer Sweeney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Tropez Gigolo in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,466.45).
