Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life with Teapot and Onion by Emil Carlsen was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,732.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emil Carlsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Pottery Jars in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 278,491.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life with Teapot and Onion von Emil Carlsen im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.732,38) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emil Carlsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life With Pottery Jars im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 278.491,86).
