Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in Zurich held the auction The Swiss Fine Art Sale, which included the work Untitled, 1962 by Sonja Sekula. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CHF 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of CHF 10,080.00 (€ 9,194.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sonja Sekula have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in June 2020 with an auction result of CHF 50,000.00 (€ 47,026.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in Zürich die Auktion The Swiss Fine Art Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1962 von Sonja Sekula zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CHF 10.080,00 (€ 9.194,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sonja Sekula auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 50.000,00 (€ 47.026,09).
