This artwork by Song Yugui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Bear in Moonlight sold for HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 116,026.17) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Song Yugui; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Waterfall in Autumn sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of HKD 1,120,000.00 (€ 129,451.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Song Yugui erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Bear in Moonlight für HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 116.026,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Song Yugui; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Waterfall in Autumn im Mai 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.120.000,00 (€ 129.451,28).
