This artwork by Song Cao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Poem in Running Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 33,545.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Song Cao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poem In Cursive Script, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,288.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Song Cao erzielte im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Poem in Running Script Calligraphy für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 33.545,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Song Cao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 158.500,00 (€ 123.288,74) versteigert wurde.
