This artwork by Song Cao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Seven-character Poem in Running Script sold for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 23,552.51) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Song Cao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poem In Cursive Script in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,288.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Song Cao erzielte im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Seven-character Poem in Running Script für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 23.552,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Song Cao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 123.288,74).
