Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session, which included the work Bands Of Color In Four Directions by Sol LeWitt. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 65,000.00 (€ 47,773.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bands Of Color In Four Directions von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 65.000,00 (€ 47.773,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
