A top price for Sławomir Elsner - as previously expected
The work Kalifornien II by Sławomir Elsner was sold in the Post War & Contemporary ArtDay Sale(Afternoon) auction at Christies in London in July 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,293.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Kalifornien II is the most expensive artwork by Sławomir Elsner that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Kalifornien II von Sławomir Elsner wurde im Juli 2008 in der Auktion Post War & Contemporary ArtDay Sale(Afternoon) bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.293,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
