Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Master at the Door and Prophetess Morgan; two works by Gertrude Morgan was sold in the American Furniture, Outsider and Folk Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2014. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,157.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gertrude Morgan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Precious Lord, 1970-1975 in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 63,692.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Master at the Door and Prophetess Morgan; two works von Gertrude Morgan wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion American Furniture, Outsider and Folk Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.157,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gertrude Morgan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Precious Lord, 1970-1975 im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 63.692,79).
