In February last year Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Noah's Ark, 1960-1970 by Gertrude Morgan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,672.84), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gertrude Morgan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Precious Lord, 1970-1975 in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 63,692.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Noah's Ark, 1960-1970 von Gertrude Morgan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.672,84) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gertrude Morgan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Precious Lord, 1970-1975 im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 63.692,79).
