Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New Jerusalem by Gertrude Morgan was sold in the Beyond Imagination: Outsider and Vernacular Art Featuring the Collection of Marjorie and Harvey Freed auction at Christies in New York in January 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 22,127.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gertrude Morgan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Precious Lord, 1970-1975, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 63,692.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit New Jerusalem von Gertrude Morgan wurde im Januar 2018 in der Auktion Beyond Imagination: Outsider and Vernacular Art Featuring the Collection of Marjorie and Harvey Freed bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 22.127,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gertrude Morgan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Precious Lord, 1970-1975 beobachtet, die im Januar 2017 für USD 68.750,00 (€ 63.692,79) versteigert wurde.
