Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art, which included the work Abstract Landscape by Sirak Melkonian. The price achieved of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,998.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sirak Melkonian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Saturn), which sold at auction in June 2020 for GBP 81,312.00 (€ 89,551.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract Landscape von Sirak Melkonian zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.998,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sirak Melkonian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Saturn) beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für GBP 81.312,00 (€ 89.551,08) versteigert wurde.
