Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Swans and a Punt, Chartwell by Sir William Nicholson was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,139.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sir William Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunflowers in March this year with an auction result of GBP 756,000.00 (€ 860,096.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Swans and a Punt, Chartwell von Sir William Nicholson kam im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.139,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sir William Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunflowers im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 756.000,00 (€ 860.096,03).
