This artwork by Sir William Nicholson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2021. In the Modern British Art Evening Sale auction, the work Still Life: Pink Lustre Mug And Fan sold for GBP 262,500.00 (€ 308,369.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sir William Nicholson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunflowers, which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 756,000.00 (€ 860,096.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sir William Nicholson erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Still Life: Pink Lustre Mug And Fan für GBP 262.500,00 (€ 308.369,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sir William Nicholson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunflowers beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 756.000,00 (€ 860.096,03) versteigert wurde.
