Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sir William Nicholson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2018. In the Annabel's auction, the work Gurnards sold for GBP 102,500.00 (€ 115,616.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sir William Nicholson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunflowers in March this year with an auction result of GBP 756,000.00 (€ 860,096.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sir William Nicholson erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Annabel's wurde die Arbeit Gurnards für GBP 102.500,00 (€ 115.616,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sir William Nicholson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunflowers im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 756.000,00 (€ 860.096,03).
