Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Sketch for 'The Mower' by William Hamo Thornycroft. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,204.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hamo Thornycroft achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Teucer in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 77,239.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sketch for 'The Mower' von William Hamo Thornycroft zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.204,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hamo Thornycroft erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Teucer im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 77.239,90).
