Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Hamo Thornycroft could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Lieutenant Norman Donaldson changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 491.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hamo Thornycroft achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Teucer in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 77,239.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Hamo Thornycroft konnte im September 2000 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Lieutenant Norman Donaldson für GBP 293,75 (€ 491,53) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hamo Thornycroft erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Teucer im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 77.239,90).
