Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young lady, facing left in black velvet dress with lace collar and cuffs, cameo brooch pinned at corsage with falling gold chain, white lace cap adorned with flowers in her curled brown hair, seated in a green upholstered chair, her right arm resti by William Charles Ross was sold in the Miniatures auction at Christies in London in May 2000. The price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,131.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Charles Ross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) As A Child, Holding The Long Blue Silk Ribbons Of Her Hat, In White Dress, Black Coat, Wearing A Blue-Lined Straw Hat Adorned With Black And Blue Ribbons On Her Curly Fair Hair; Landscape Background in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 18,

Die Arbeit A young lady, facing left in black velvet dress with lace collar and cuffs, cameo brooch pinned at corsage with falling gold chain, white lace cap adorned with flowers in her curled brown hair, seated in a green upholstered chair, her right arm resti von William Charles Ross wurde im Mai 2000 in der Auktion Miniatures bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) As A Child, Holding The Long Blue Silk Ribbons Of Her Hat, In White Dress, Black Coat, Wearing A Blue-Lined Straw Hat Adorned With Black And Blue Ribbons On Her Curly Fair Hair; Landscape Background im
