This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Post-War British Art at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,018,500.00 (€ 7,242,459.25).
