Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Portrait of a Woman by Stanley Spencer. The price achieved of GBP 1,211.25 (€ 1,446.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,018,500.00 (€ 7,242,459.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Woman von Stanley Spencer zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.211,25 (€ 1.446,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.018.500,00 (€ 7.242.459,25).
