The work Soxy by Stanley Spencer was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in June last year. It achieved a price of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,258.61), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,018,500.00 (€ 7,242,459.25).

Die Arbeit Soxy von Stanley Spencer wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.258,61) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.018.500,00 (€ 7.242.459,25).
