Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Oswald Walters Brierly could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime auction, the work A frigate, Admiralty cutters and other shipping at Spithead changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 409.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oswald Walters Brierly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work East Boyd, Twofold Bay, New South Wales in November 2001 with an auction result of AUD 25,850.00 (€ 15,014.24).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oswald Walters Brierly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit East Boyd, Twofold Bay, New South Wales im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 25.850,00 (€ 15.014,24).
