Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of George Watson Taylor (1770-1841), M.P., half-length, in a blue coat with a cream waistcoat and white stock by Martin Archer Shee was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,260.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Archer Shee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Full-Length, In A White Dress With A Yellow Silk Sash, An Artist'S Palette And Neo-Classical Bust On A Table To Her Left, An Erard Harp On Her Right, And A Classical Greek Urn To Her Left And An Engraving In Her Left Hand in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 35,250.00 (€ 58,557.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of George Watson Taylor (1770-1841), M.P., half-length, in a blue coat with a cream waistcoat and white stock von Martin Archer Shee kam im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Full-Length, In A White Dress With A Yellow Silk Sash, An Artist'S Palette And Neo-Classical Bust On A Table To Her Left, An Erard Harp On Her Right, And A Classical Greek Urn To Her Left And An Engraving In Her Left Hand im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.250,00 (€ 58.557,26).
