In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art, which included the work Portrait Of A Man, Said To Be Daniel O'Connell by Martin Archer Shee. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Archer Shee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Full-Length, In A White Dress With A Yellow Silk Sash, An Artist'S Palette And Neo-Classical Bust On A Table To Her Left, An Erard Harp On Her Right, And A Classical Greek Urn To Her Left And An Engraving In Her Left Hand in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 35,250.00 (€ 58,557.26).
