In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR, which included the work Sir Lewis McIver, Bart., M.P., 'The Member for Scotland' Politician by Leslie Matthew Ward. The result of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,741.73) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leslie Matthew Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,125.99).
