Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mr Charles Thurston Fogg-Elliot, 'Fogg' Rower by Leslie Matthew Ward was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,786.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Leslie Matthew Ward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,125.99).
