Auction result well in line with expectations

In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR, which included the work The Earl of Eglinton and Winton A Good Sportsman by Leslie Matthew Ward. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,264.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leslie Matthew Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,125.99).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Dezember 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Earl of Eglinton and Winton A Good Sportsman von Leslie Matthew Ward zur Versteigerung kam.
