Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Lavery achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Irish Art auction, the work Portrait of Mrs Charles Baker sold for GBP 214,200.00 (€ 251,490.95) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Lavery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Terrace, Cap d'Ail in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,162,500.00 (€ 1,363,272.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Lavery erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs Charles Baker für GBP 214.200,00 (€ 251.490,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Lavery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Terrace, Cap d'Ail im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.162.500,00 (€ 1.363.272,29).
