Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hounslow by John Lavery was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 52,920.00 (€ 62,742.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Lavery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Terrace, Cap d'Ail in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,162,500.00 (€ 1,363,272.29).
