In June last year Sothebys in London held the auction British Art: The Jubilee Auction, which included the work Sleeping by John Everett Millais. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,971,000.00 (€ 2,289,741.33), 31% above the upper estimate. Other works by John Everett Millais have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 2,301,875.00 (€ 2,630,293.40) in July 2013 for the work Sisters.

Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British Art: The Jubilee Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sleeping von John Everett Millais zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.971.000,00 (€ 2.289.741,33) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von John Everett Millais haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.301.875,00 (€ 2.630.293,40) im Juli 2013 für die Arbeit Sisters beobachtet.
