The work Sisters by John Everett Millais was sold in the Important Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2013. The price achieved of GBP 2,301,875.00 (€ 2,630,293.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sisters is the most expensive artwork by John Everett Millais that we have observed at auctions so far.
