Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work The Auctioneer by John Everett Millais for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,432.06). This price was achieved in the auction British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Everett Millais achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sisters in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 2,301,875.00 (€ 2,630,293.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Auctioneer von John Everett Millais für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.432,06) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Everett Millais erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sisters im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.301.875,00 (€ 2.630.293,40).
