It achieved a price of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 177,282.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Everett Millais achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sisters in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 2,301,875.00 (€ 2,630,293.40).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Dorothy Lawson von John Everett Millais wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 177.282,44) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Everett Millais erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sisters im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.301.875,00 (€ 2.630.293,40).
